Many girls in Uganda become pregnant unintentionally, some as young as 15! The fathers often disappear and in some cases, the mothers are rejected by their families. With their young children, they have little chance of holding down a regular job that would allow them to adequately support themselves and their children.
is a non-profit organisation based in Kayabwe, in the Mpigi District of Uganda. Our focus is on empowering young mothers and disadvantaged youths by equipping them with marketable technical and personal skills.
Our programmes include tailoring and fashion design, as well as computer literacy. Together with our trainees and the support of volunteers and sponsors, we are able to create a safe, nurturing environment.

My Name is Sselubula Edrisa, ( Patrick ) the Founder and Director of Young Mothers Training Uganda (YMTU), an organization established in 2025 to support and empower vulnerable young mothers through skills training, education, and community development initiatives. My passion for vocational skills training and tailoring has played a significant role in my journey of supporting vulnerableyoung mothers. Tailoring not only provides a source of income but also restores confidence, diginity and hope seeing young mothers develope skills , start small businesses and become independent.
Every day at YMTU, we are proving that with the right support, young mothers can overcome any barrier. Being part of this team has shown me the incredible resilience of these women. We are committed to building a sustainable future, one workshop at a time, ensuring that every woman who walks through our doors leaves empowered

Before I joined YMTU, I didn't know how I would support my child. The training didn't just teach me a skill; it gave me the confidence to start earning for myself. Now, I see a clear path to financial freedom, and that is a dream come true.
